KENNY: IT IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT BUSINESSES HAVE BEEN WAITING TO HEAR FOR WEEKS AND WEEKS, PHASE TWO KICKS IN THIS THAT FRIDAY. MEANS RESTAURANTS CAN REOPEN THEIR DINING ROOMS, YOU CAN GET YOUR HAIR DONE AND YOUR NAILS DONE. TALITHA: IT WILL BE A FIVE-WEEK LONG STRETCH STRETCHING TO JUNE 26. THIS IS COMING WITH RESTRICTIONS AND AN EMPHASIS ON SAFETY. UNDER THE NEW EXECUTIVE ORDER, RESTAURANTS HAVE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS TO 50% CAPACITY, AND TABLES MUST BE REARRANGED SO THAT GROUPS ARE SIX FEET A PART. KENNY: THE RESTRICTIONS ARE SIMILAR FOR SALONS, BARBER SHOPS AND OTHER PERSONAL GROOMING BUSINESSES, HOWEVER, WORKERS MUST WEAR A FACEMASK WHEN WITHIN SIX FEET OF SOMEBODY ELSE. KENNY: INDOOR GATHERINGS ARE STILL LIMITED TO 10 PEOPLE, AND OUTDOOR GATHERINGS ARE LIMITED TO 25 PEOPLE. KENNY: BARS, NIGHTCLUBS, GYMS, INDOOR ENTERTAINMENT VENUES AND PUBLIC PLAYGROUNDS WILL ALL STAY CLOSED. MANY OF THOSE BUSINESSES THOUGHT POTENTIALLY THAT THEY WOULD BE OPENING AS PART OF PHASE TWO. TALITHA: NO DOUBT A LOT TO BREAK DOWN, AND A LOT FOR BUSINESSES TO PREPARE FOR IF THEY WANT TO OPEN THIS WEEKEND. TONIGHT WE HAVE TEAM COVERAGE, WITH REACTIONS FROM RESTAURANT OWNERS AS WELL AS A SALON OWNER. JUSTIN BEGINS OUR TEAM COVERAGE IN MOCKSVILLE. JUSTIN: RESTAURANT OWNER K MILLER SAYS HE IS READY TO BEGIN DINE-IN SERVICE HERE AT MILLER RESTAURANT. MAKING SURE HE FOLLOWS ALL OF GOVERNOR COOPER’S RULES. MILLER SAYS BESIDES MAKING SURE PEOPLE ARE SITTING A SAFE DISTANCE APART INSIDE, HE PLANS TO DO THE SAME THING OUTSIDE. HE SAYS HE HAS EVERYTHING FROM MASKS, GLOVES, TWO THERMOMETERS FOR HI EMPLOYEES. HE SAYS MOST IMPORTANTLY, HIS MAIN JOB IS TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE STAYS SAFE. >> I THINK THIS IS DEFINITELY A POSITIVE MOVE FOR NORTH CAROLINA WITHOUT A DOUBT. MAKING SURE EVERYBODY STAYS SAFE AND STICKS TO THE SIX FOOT RULES AND DO WHAT YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO, AND WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. SHE ASKED HER CLIENTS TO PLEASE CONTINUE BEING PATIENT AND TO EXPECT THE EXPERIENCE INSIDE THE SALON TO BE VERY DIFFERENT >> THROUGH OUR MISSION, ORIGINALLY IT WAS TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL LIKE A GODDESS, TO REALLY TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIENTS AND MAKE THEM FEEL GREAT. THAT HAS BECOME SECONDARY AND OUR PRIMARY MISSION HAS BECOME KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE, OUR CLIENTS AND OUR STAFF, FAMILIES. THAT IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
